Corrections & Retractions

This text is MAYERA Medical Journal's, word for word as on mayeramj.com. MMJ is currently MAYERA Ink's only journal.

MAYERA does not protect the reputation of an article; MAYERA protects the integrity of the scientific record.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an honest error affects the published record but does not invalidate the overall findings. The correction should clearly identify the affected material and be linked to the original article.

Expressions of concern

An expression of concern may be issued when there are substantial unresolved questions about the reliability or integrity of an article and available evidence is insufficient for a final correction or retraction decision. It should be updated or resolved when the investigation permits.

Retractions

Retraction may be appropriate when findings are unreliable because of serious error, misconduct, unethical research, major undisclosed conflict, or other substantial reasons that undermine the integrity of the record.

Process

  • Concerns are recorded and assessed by authorised editors.
  • Authors may be asked to respond and provide supporting information.
  • The journal may contact institutions or other competent bodies where appropriate.
  • The decision and notice are approved by authorised humans and documented.
  • Published notices should be linked to the original article and preserve the history of the scholarly record.
  • Published articles are not silently altered or removed except in exceptional circumstances handled under a documented policy.
